These six plus photos of Mr J are good example of how well parents have prepared for the shoot. At our Derby baby photography studio we always welcome when mum and dad bring their own special clothes to have a special theme.
We started from simple shots of Mr J cap and jeans with braces. He liked just to sit, to smile and to look around. The blue theme for these first pictures always suits little boys.
We then dressed up Mr J in the Derby County football team uniform which his parents brought for the shoot. He certainly enjoyed playing with the ball 🙂
At the end we did few shots of Mr J sitting simply sitting on a Union Jack box, one of the most favourite toy for my little models 🙂
It was such a pleasure to photograph little Mr J – look forward to seeing him at his Cake Smash shoot!
I love when my little models are dressed up in shorts and a hat or a cap. I think this makes them so stylish! The eight months old baby boy photo of Mr G in this post show exactly how I like it 🙂
The newborn photo session of Mr G happened nearly eight months ago – you can find these photographs in the Mr G’s newborn post. How lovely it was to see him and his parents again!
Mr G came with his mum and dad in excellent mood. It was pleasure to dress him up and photograph him, as he was smiling all the way! Many thanks to his parents for keeping him so happy that morning. As you know, at the six plus sessions it is very important that Mr G could sit by himself, and he did it quite happily!
After all the preparations were made, we’ve started smiling, playing and taking pictures. The first set up was with this cute cap and shorts.
Then Mr G got dressed in another hat and trousers with braces, and sat in the favourite prop of all babies – a small wooden cart. Here is how much he loved sitting there.
We then did few more shots in the cart, without the cart, and then just lying down and laughing. We also had opportunity to photograph Mr G with mum and dad – such lovely people and caring parents!
That’s it for today. If you are curious on how Mr G grows, keep an eye on my blog – Mr G’s Cake Smash photos are coming soon!
Following his newborn photo session few months ago, Mr B has grown a little bit. Now he is just a bit older than 6 months, he can sit and crawl, and the world has become even more interesting. I would like to share with you new baby boy photographs Derby from a six plus photo session of Mr B. Now, when he has learnt to sit-up by himself he has much more to see! This curious look and enjoyment of some independence is exactly what we want to photograph at our six plus photo sessions!
The photo shoot was done in the green-brown theme, the same was was used at his newborn session. At Mr B’s newborn photo shoot we did a photograph with a little crocodile toy. At this six plus session we’ve done the same shot, with the same crocodile, in the same basket, but with Mr B grown. Quite a difference, isn’t it 🙂
I have plenty of props in my studio for my baby photo shoots. The wooden suitcases are probably the top toy for the six months babies as they can open them, close them, sit on them etc – here is one of such pictures with happy Mr B sitting on the top of the pile of vintage suitcases.
The next image Mr B’s parents ordered as a frame to put on the wall. They said it looks like a selfie, and called it “My first selfie”.
It was great to see little Mr B at his 6 months age – see you at your cake smash photo shoot when you will be one year old!
It is the time of the year when ‘Christmas is coming’… This is time to prepare presents for your loved ones, and a photographic present is not an exception. And here is an idea, a Christmas baby shoot in Derby with Elen Studio Photography.
It is increasingly popular these days to do photographic Christmas cards or Thank you cards. There are many other options out there, from small photographic presents to large wall frames…
But it all starts from having a good shot. I would like share with you some Christmas baby photographs for a Christmas mood. Here are some Christmas photographs of Mr J. In this photos he is around 10 months old and this is his first Christmas! I love Christmas atmosphere!
You may have already seen photographs from Miss A’s newborn photo session. This time I photographed her when she was just a bit older than 6 month. The pictures in this post are from her six months plus photo shoot at my Derby baby photography studio.
Miss A has now learned how to sit and these were the moments I was trying to catch. She was enjoying being able to be on her own, to sit just to lay down looking at this strange lady with a black box pressing a button 🙂 We chose yellow – purple for the shoot to make the pictures bright and alive. You can read all sort of emotions at her face, from laughing and smiling to expression of curiosity and of little fear to fall aside, and I love this variety. Photographing little children is always fun!
I hope these pictures will bring a smile at your face 🙂
This is Mr O, and his six plus baby pictures. He has been very good at this session. He liked sitting in the basket and crawling around my studio. He also seems to like looking into the camera, possibly wondering what is this big black thing and who is behind it 🙂
I enjoyed photographing Mr O. That was easy to pose and direct him. I’m glad I chose the cap as his outfit, think it suited him very well. Apart from photographing the boy himself, I did few shots of the whole family. I quite like this photo, it reflects the connection between the little boy and his parents.
Enjoy the pictures 🙂
I’m very excited to say that the second year in row I have won the MPA East Midlands competition in Portrait of under 5s category and proud to be an award winning baby photographer 2014. This follows the success of last year’s competition.
Master Photographers Association, UK organisation of professional photographers, hold its annual East Midlands awards competition every year. This year I took a part with some of my favourite newborn and baby photographs and some wedding fashion shots. Apart from the three of my photographs that became the winners, two other images had an award of excellence and five had merit recognitions.
I’d like to say thank you to all my little models and their parents, as well as to the wedding couples and models, for giving me this opportunity to create beautiful artistic pictures and to everyone supporting me through this year.
Here are the winning baby photographs and those marked as merit or award of excellence.
Also, this year have won Contemporary wedding and Fashion, which you can look through in the ESP wedding photography blog.
About 9 months after their newborn photo shoot, I was glad to see little twins, Martin and Hazel, at my Derby studio again. Now, for a Six Plus boutique baby photography shoot.
These two very cute twins have grown since last shoot so that now they are able to sit on their own. Since the shoot was in December, the obvious theme we chose was a Christmas theme. Both Martin and Hazel enjoyed cuddling a Christmas teddy and play with little toys.
Since Martin and Hazel were in good mood, I also decided to dress them in elegant clothes: Martin – in a cap, bow tie and shorts, and Hazel, in head band and a dress. You can find from the pictures, that they both really enjoyed this photographic experience. Isn’t it great to see these smiles?
Here are photos from one of my favourite six plus sessions. This is Miss M, dressed in a cute red top and red-orange tutu which I made myself specially for this shoot. She just learned to sit up on her own and it looks like she enjoys it! With this smiling face and curious look, she won’t sit for long!
I’ve got plenty of bright colour props, dresses and head bands, especially for girls 🙂 Sometimes I make my photography props myself, like for this shoot. This makes it easier to select appropriate colours to match a chosen theme which is an important part of my boutique baby photography style.
A new set of family and Six Plus photographs taken in Derby.
Following a newborn photo shoot of Elliott, it was great to see Claire, Rob and little Elliott again for their family photo shoot. First, we had a few shots outside and then moved indoor to complete the photo session. The coming Christmas will be the first Christmas for Elliott so we’ve decided to create the festive atmosphere a bit earlier and made it a theme of this shoot 🙂
Keep in touch!
