I’m proud to present another set of newborn photographs from my Derby newborn photography studio. This time it is a newborn baby boy, Mr A. I think that Mr A has been the youngest model at my studio so far; he was just 4 day old when his mummy and daddy brought him to take some cute pictures of the little man.
Stacey and Jon, mummy and daddy of Mr A, wanted simple pictures with not much of bright colours. So we started off with some simple poses, gradually changing to something more unusual. As my little model was very young, he slept quite well throughout the shoot allowing me to take more and more interesting photographs, like the one just below.
Then we moved on to wrapping and putting Mr A in a wooden nest and a stool. At the end, we also managed to get some fantastic family pictures which I absolutely love! Here is one of them
Here are some new photographs at our newborn photography studio Derby. Mr G, a little model at these pictures, was nearly one month old. It was unusual, as I tend to photograph babies before they reach the age of 2 weeks. The problem with photographing babies over 14 days old is often that they become more active, less sleepy and more hungry 🙂 But this was not the case at this photo shoot.
At the beginning Mr G was not asleep at all. He was observing the world quietly letting me to take few pictures of him looking around and smiling. After a while he fell asleep and that was good time to do something more creative, e.g. to put a tie or hat on him 🙂 We used different colour themes to give a variety to the photographs.
Mr G’s parents adore his little boy and really wanted to have few family photographs with him. We did one with mummy, one with daddy, and then several shots altogether. I love these family photographs of Mr G with his parents – they are truly beautiful and, I think, reflect connection between all members of the family really well.
I hope you will enjoy these lovely newborn and family photographs the way I do 🙂
After long nine months seeing your tummy grow, long sleepless nights, odd cravings and feeling heavier by the day, your little bundle of joy has finally arrived! Now its time to hire a newborn photographer to store the beautiful moments of your little heart. And this tiny baby is perfect in every single way, from head to toes, just as you dreamed it would be.
You fall in love with your baby and wish you could be able to keep every single memory in your mind, remember what this baby looked like when you first met; all the details of his or her hair, tiny nose and hands. Well, every new mum feels the same but unfortunately they grow up so quickly that when you realize it, is difficult to remember just those little details you wanted to keep forever in your mind.
One option to keep these memories alive will be to grab your mobile phone or your camera and take the pictures of your baby. Of course they will be lovely and cute, but they will lack one thing… the touch of a professional photographer.
There are some professional photographers that specialise in taking pictures of newborn babies. A professional newborn photographer will capture the beauty of your child and create a lovely collection of photos for you to keep forever, and here are some of the reasons why you should consider these services:
Here are some rainbow themed Cake Smash photos of Mr I, from his Cake Smash session some time ago. We’ve decided to make it as colourful as possible, with mostly rainbow colours.
As usually, we started the shoot from taking few pictures with some props, like a wooden suitcase (a very popular item among my little models 🙂 ). Then he played a little bit with a toy train as well and letters O, N and E. At the end Mr I put on a bright red-yellow-green-blue bow tie, for few more photos and to smash the cake which was made to order to match the theme. He certainly enjoyed the cake, especially the chocolate part of it 🙂
The shoot went very well, everyone had fun, including little Mr I. I hope the pictures will bring a smile at your face 🙂
It is the time of the year when ‘Christmas is coming’… This is time to prepare presents for your loved ones, and a photographic present is not an exception. And here is an idea, a Christmas baby shoot in Derby with Elen Studio Photography.
It is increasingly popular these days to do photographic Christmas cards or Thank you cards. There are many other options out there, from small photographic presents to large wall frames…
But it all starts from having a good shot. I would like share with you some Christmas baby photographs for a Christmas mood. Here are some Christmas photographs of Mr J. In this photos he is around 10 months old and this is his first Christmas! I love Christmas atmosphere!
You may have already seen photographs from Miss A’s newborn photo session. This time I photographed her when she was just a bit older than 6 month. The pictures in this post are from her six months plus photo shoot at my Derby baby photography studio.
Miss A has now learned how to sit and these were the moments I was trying to catch. She was enjoying being able to be on her own, to sit just to lay down looking at this strange lady with a black box pressing a button 🙂 We chose yellow – purple for the shoot to make the pictures bright and alive. You can read all sort of emotions at her face, from laughing and smiling to expression of curiosity and of little fear to fall aside, and I love this variety. Photographing little children is always fun!
I hope these pictures will bring a smile at your face 🙂
Today I’m going to share with you few newborn images of Mr R at my newborn photography studio in Derby.
Mr R, this little baby boy, was just 2 weeks old when I photographed him. As you can see from the photographs, he did sleep very well so I had a chance to try different poses and outfits.
Mr R’s mum and dad prefer light natural colours so we chose creme neutral backgrounds, fabrics and accessories. The only picture where I deviated from this is the one with Mr R in a brown-green ‘nest’. By choosing the combination of green and brown I wanted to reflect the autumn theme, the season when he was born. At the end of the shoot we also did few photographs with mum and family altogether. I love these family pictures showing connection between Mr R and his parents!
Look forward to photographing Mr R at his 6 months plus session in a few months!
I normally photograph babies in my Derby based studio. However, in some special cases, I occasionally travel to photograph babies at their homes. For that I’d normally need to have some certain light and space conditions which are not always available. This post shows photographs of a baby taken in Nottingham. So I temporarily became a Nottingham newborn photographer.
This cute baby girl Miss M was just few days old at this session. She slept well through the whole session so I had time to do some more complicated poses, especially the one on the top photo. The photo shoot was very special for me because I photographed her little sister before. Of course, I could not miss opportunity to photograph two sisters together. I like the picture where they hold each other’s hands. You can see the connection between the kids.
With regards to the theme, the idea was to bring bright spring colours in the pictures. To add variety, we also tried different hats/head bands and wraps.
Thank you to Miss M’s parents for trusting me taking newborn photographs of their second child!
Mr J likes toy horses. So we thought why not to have a cowboy cake smash photo session? I immediately contacted my bespoke cake partner and ordered the cake with a little horse and a cowboy on the top. That was a new idea for my cake smash photo shoots and I was keen to see the result.
Mr J, dressed in scarf, checked shirt and jeans looked like a real cowboy! First, he had a ride on a rocking horse. Then he played with balloons a little bit. He was very curious about the cake, looked at the characters first and only then smashed the cake to pieces 🙂 It looks like Mr J had fun that day!
Thank you to Mr J’s mum and dad for dressing him so well!
Two years ago I photographed a wedding of a lovely couple, Emma and Andrew. In this post, I’m very pleased to present some newborn baby images of their daughter, Miss M.
From the very beginning of the photo shoot Miss M was very curious about what is going on. When she did not sleep, she would look around – see the top image for this curious look 🙂 I also took a picture with a little teddy bear which Emma and Andrew brought for the shoot; such photographs, with first toys, would be treasured forever! The other newborn baby images in this post were taken with different colours and outfit to add to the variety of the photographs. At the end I photographed Andrew with her little daughter – I love photographing parents with their little babies!
Emma and Andrew, it was lovely to see you back and pleasure to photograph your beautiful daughter!
